Partnership and Steering Group:
MFT is managed by a Partnership Group consisting of Principals and Vice-Principals of all MFT Schools. As well as leading the strategic development of MFT, the partnership group is also a networking and sharing opportunity for all schools. In addition the work of the partnership is further informed and developed by a Steering Group consisting of senior leaders from a cross section of MFT Schools (Nursery, Primary, Special, Post-primary, Integrated, Controlled and Maintained).
Shared Learning Networks (SLNs):
SLNs are a unique MFT initiative that seeks to develop relationships and cascade learning across the whole partnership. SLNs provide Curriculum and Sector coordinators from across the partnership to meet, develop new professional relationships, share good practice, share resources, participate in training and develop new approaches – together. This process enables schools to model the relationships that they wish to see between their wider school communities. At present the partnership has 5 Shared Learning Networks. These are: Early Years and Foundation; Literacy, Numeracy, Special Educational Needs; and Shared Education.
Joint Practice Development:
Joint Practice Development (JPD) is an EA approach that has been developed out of emerging shared education practice. This approach supports and funds schools to create shared hubs where educators can research and deliver projects and training that focus on known pupil need. Within MFT there are 2 such hubs which have enabled the delivery of multiple staff initiatives across the partnership with focusses of Wellbeing, Special Educational Needs and Leadership.
Staff Wellbeing:
Since its creation, MFT has prioritised wellbeing of staff and pupils in a number of annual activities. The partnership values the daily, weekly, monthly and annual contributions that all school staff make towards the wellbeing of children and as such seeks to support school staff in a way that enables their own wellbeing. As part of this, MFT has delivered numerous wellbeing workshops for school staff on an annual basis. This includes Midnfulness Training, Resiliency Seminars and Talks, Wellbeing in times of Covid and Reflective Supervision
